This summer, our girls explored technology, creativity, and leadership while ELA strengthened partnerships and prepared new pathways for the school year. We are proud of the progress and excited for what comes next!


PROGRAM Journeys

Emerging Ladies Academy completed two summer program contracts. Girls explored hands-on technology and creative learning while strengthening teamwork, confidence, nd problem-solving skills.

ACHIEVEMENTS

ELA served these students during the past year.

STEAM

Interns developed the Girls in STEAM Guide and STEAM Career Journal to inspire for high school girls.

GROWTH

Employer and community engagement expanded through workshops, speaker opportunities & field trips

  • ELA strengthened its program framework as a pre-apprenticeship and workforce pathway.

  •  A marketing intern joined the team, and program data is being organized to better share ELA's impact.



Fashion + Technology

From the Runway to New opportunities ahead

ELA participants showcased their creativity through the Summer 26 Culxr House Classic Runway. The experience connected fashion, design, technology, and entrepreneurship - and a pathway toward future fashion opportunities.

UPCOMING PROGRAMS

We are excited to announce our upcoming schedule for the 2026 academic year. Join us as we continue to expand our reach and impact.

  • First Robotics:  Orientation Recruitment August 29th at 9am at UNO Community Engagement Center. Scan here to register


  • Collective for Youth After School Partnership: ELA returns for the 2026 - 2027 school year with weekly programming within 6 OPS elementary and middle schools.

  • Fall School Programs: after - school learning, staff recruitment, and intern onboarding are underway.



LOOKING AHEAD

ELA is developing stronger employer volunteer opportunities, expanding partnerships with immigrant and refugee - serving organizations, and creating more pathways for girls to expose STEM careers. Future plans include educational product sales, robotics growth, workforce-connected learning, and expanded Tech Academy experiences.
